Diagnosed at age 19 and I’m 60 years old. If I make it to 79 years old that will be 60 years with schizophrenia. I mean c’mon, I should be able to use that as an excuse for something.
Not a bad effort to have gotten through all you have. I’m sure there’s more fun in your future so with some help and modern medicine we can get you there @77nick77 !
Sounds good to me!
2 months shy of 7 years with sz. But some symptoms were present long before the onset.
26 years for me, i am 46 now!
I’m late 30’s
Did ■■■■ get harder for you as time went on @77nick77 ?
My first full blown psychotic episode was at age 23. That was 38 years ago so, 38 years with sza for me.
You seem to function well too @SkinnyMe
You are a senior citizen I believe.
I wish there was a broader age range of posters on this site.
I bet there are a lot of people who just browse too…
I fully believe i had a psychotic episode when i was 7 or so… But it wasnt until i was 21 that it became apparent and im 28 now.
I had schizophrenic symptoms at 20 but didn’t go into full blown psychosis until 22. I am 42 years old now and so I have lived with this mental illness for over 20 years.
That’s a whole other subject. Give me the right time, the right place and the right girl and I do OK.
Your disclosure blows me away @77nick77. What a marathon! I’m 66 but I was acute for 10 years and diagnosed only 11 years ago, being late onset. But you! Wow! That’s amazing! And you have such a great outlook and attitude and have so much to give.
Only 4 years here. Don’t know how you did it. I’d say congrats but not sure that’s the right thing to say or not.
I guess it’s like telling someone, “My, my, what a beautiful tumor.”
first symptom was at 17, 37 now, 20 years with sz
About the same amount of time living with Schizophrenia but now 66 thus late onset diagnosis
