yeah I filled one out only to be sent a different one to fill out. its making me nervous…I haven’t been on disability very long, about 3 years…so I guess i’m to expect this kind of treatment every 3 years depending on who’s in office probably. just read so and so wants to cut the budget for mental illness…

I am under review now and hopefully I hear something back soon. I hope it goes well. I filled out two piles of paperwork and my partner filled out another stack that they sent her. Asking questions about what I do all day, do I have any hobbies stuff like that. The mental exam went about how I expected. Some things I did well on others I couldn’t do like remembering numbers and words. I did well on word association

Just be honest and when and if you go for an exam tell them everything you go through

I was under review this past fall, but I didn’t have to take any kind of exam. They just collected information from doctors. I had been on disability for three years when they did my review. I was a nervous wreck from the time I found out they were doing a review until I heard that I had passed the review. I am really nervous for my next one because I no longer see my pain management doctor as often since I’m not on opioids anymore. I used to have to see him every three months since he did drug screening, but now I’m on lidoderm patches and don’t need screening. I wonder if that will affect their decision. Also, the lithium is making me feel better. I don’t know if I can work though. What will happen? I hope it isn’t for several years. If it is long enough away, I may have time to get my ducks in a row and start working before the review.

Sorry for talking about me… I hope you do well on your review. They are very nerve-wracking! I feel your pain.:persevere:

@Happy_Heather all you have to say is that you have schizophrenia…and I showed on the review that I see the psychiatrist every 3 months. I doubt they will further review me or bother me after this.

Just got my review in the mail today. I’ve been on disability for 10 years. The last review I got was 3 or 4 years ago. I guess I should ask my pdoc if I can work, as I had to check the box My doctor and I have not discussed if I can work. I just hope I don’t get hit with a medical review. I didn’t the last time.

When they take mine away I’ll jump off a bridge. Or if in not stupid at the time, go work and get harassed by the whole county. Nevermind. I hope they do take it away so I can lose my cats ,home and go live in the woods away from people.

With my case, they took several issues into account, including my chronic low back issues and my intractable migraines. If those two get better, will they keep me on disability just because of the sza? And what if my sza improves? Will they keep me on it because the stress of working can cause a relapse?

@roxanna I really worry about you dear…you seem so highly emotional all the time…I wish you would work with your pdoc about getting you to settle down.

@Happy_Heather it doesn’t matter if you are high functioning for a schizophrenic…if you are seeing your pdoc they can always say you can’t work…don’t worry little one.

My reviews were set for every 5 to 7 years. They don’t expect me to improve but I triggered a review by going back to work.

I can make so much more money by working than I can on SSDI and I get close to the maximum amount you can get. It will still be there when I reach retirement age.

But when it comes down to it I may cut down my hours and quit my part time job in California so I don’t lose it. I haven’t figured that all out yet.

When I start working part time, I hope to make under the limit so I can keep my disability too and use the money from work to pay for school. All this disability stuff is stressful and confusing.

I really hope your review goes well. I am sure you won’t have any issues.
