Would you pay $25 for a new watch band if the watch cost $50 brand new?

I bought it about a year ago and the old band broke so I went to the watch repair near my house and had the jeweler put on a similar band that cost $25. What would you have done?

I’d have got the band. That way I get a $50 watch for $25.

Only if it was either my favorite and I wore it all the time, or if it had some special meaning to me.

I’d like to say I’d be like @LilyoftheValley but I’d probably be like @everhopeful no matter what

I’d pay for the band. But, my current watch cost $25 through the mail, so I’d have to like the $50 watch. And remember it will probably need a new battery in a while.

I’d pay for the band. I had a $300 necklace’s chain break. I don’t generally even get gold jewelry. I stick to .925. Anyhow, the chain I needed was $500. I bought it. I could have gotten a new necklace, but the chain wouldn’t have been as sturdy and could have easily broken again. So yeah, I paid more but saved myself trouble. Now, I buy medium thickness (silver) chains when I get a necklace. I actually bought a fine chain for a delicate pendant, and I never realized, but not only are the mediums stronger, but I’ve never had an issue with them tangling. That fine one arrived tangled, and I have to untangle it each time like Christmas tree lights. Sorry, I got a bit off topic.

No I’d just buy a new watch !

A one year old watch should last for a while longer. So I think $25 is your best bet.
