i fantasize about living without a car. but in my current location it’s impossible to live without a car because im kind of in the country. i could maybe move back to my hometown where i could get around on a bicycle to the grocery store and work. but my hometown is getting more and more expensive, im not sure i can afford to own a house or condo there. there was a nice 1bedroom 1bath place that was for sale in my price range, but i couldnt garden there so didn’t pursue it. if i ever lose my license because of my eyesight, i will definitely have to move. i would probably move to detroit, michigan, where i could get a condo for cheap.

i like having a car to go to work and go on road trips to visit friends. i could get by without one, especically since i live in the city close to shopping areas. but, i mostly keep a car, cause i havent ruled out getting with a woman eventually, and i dont want to look bad without a car. if i end up single i may give in and sell the car. id save a hundred a month, at least, so that’d be a plus.

I live in a city in the USA, I am 41 and I have never owned a car. It is a privilege to have good public transportation in this country though I wish that were not that case. That way we would all have more freedom.
