I’m on 5mg Olanzapine. Finished my last episode in April. I have no positive symptoms at all. Would I relapse if I stop taking medication?
I know I’ve asked this already and nobody can answer for sure. But just had to ask.
I hate this illness there must be a way out of this mess.
You are so lucky to be symptom free what harm to take medication

For me, I relapsed in the forms of intrusive thoughts ptsd type of stress, anxiety and psychotic affects.
Now I take mood stabilizers and antidepressants for negatives

I relapsed suddenly into severe delusions, but there was stress involved.

You answered this yourself. No one can know for sure. But if you have had 2 episodes already I would say that it is highly risky. I understand the desire to be off meds though. I’m considering trying myself, but I have been stable and on meds for almost 3 years straight.

It’s just like living in a nightmare… if I hadn’t split up with my partner and lost my family I’d be okay

It is very risky if you stop taking your medicine. You have to figure out if it is worth it. Either you are going to get delusional or you have to deal with the side effects. You have to choose the best way.

Doctor says I can try and come off again in the future. Only see him once a year now though. CPN says I’ll relapse if I come off and she look at it in a years time.

Look at relapses straight in the eye and say that you aren’t afraid of it.
Be vigilant in the onset and take precautionary measures to avoid slipping into psychosis.
That includes taking meds also

Demand an appointment with the doctor to discuss your concerns.
Assume you’re in the UK?
Really shout and scream at them to get them to pull their finger out and help you
They don’t seem to respond to something unless it’s urgent
Tell them you will discontinue your meds if you don’t see a doctor.
Pretty sure they’ll get you an appointment if you do so
Request a review
Please don’t do it alone
