Worried about my Dad

My Dad has gotten into some wacko dangerous conspiracy theories.

He thinks I should try taking a type of chlorine to get rid of my psychosis called ‘medical mineral solution ‘. I’ve read up on it and ingesting it can be fatal. So of course I’m steering clear. Who the hell thinks ingesting chlorine is a good idea?!

Now he’s saying “ I watched a very interesting video that says that ‘dry fasts’ can cure almost anything’!”

I said “ you mean going without food and water?!”

He said “ yes”

“ that would be dangerous”

“ you’re so close minded you only believe what they tell you!”

I am worried he is going to try going without water for an extended period of time, I guess I’ve got to call the mental health team on him?? He will probably kick me out and not talk to me if he gets put in the psych ward..

Does your dad suffer from sz?

Or perhaps he believes in those conspiracy theorists and nut jobs online?

If you could cure everything with a fast then we would all be doing it.

No he doesn’t have sz

And he doesn’t have a mh diagnoses.

He’s just extremely gullible about what the nut jobs online say!

I wouldn’t call the mental health team on him unless he actually is putting himself in harm’s way. They are a great resource when theyre needed, but if he isn’t in crisis all it will do is make him mistrustful of you and risk your access to housing.

Ok, thanks, I appreciate your advice. I will maybe just keep an eye on his lips if I think he’s not drinking water. He will probably try and hide it from me

My mom is the same. Someone tried to sell her some kind of water with Colloidal Silver, I had to tell her it’s bs. She also is very spiritual, believes in aliens, healing, that some people can read the future. And that some people can speak to the dead. Yes, she is very gullible.

I hate it when she comes with BS she finds online. Like crop circles are proof that aliens exist? Yeah, right!

Oh, yeah.. My dad sounds a lot like her! I think I used to be like that too, until sz called for rationality!

It is not an easy thing to hide. The signs of dehydration are super obvious. Odds are though, he will give up within a few hours. We are hardwired to crave water because we can’t survive more than a couple days without it.

What do you mean seriously? yes I do. You really think with how big our universe is and that the same stuff that made life possible on Earth is everywhere in the universe. I’d say there’s a 99% chance aliens exist.

You believe aliens come and visit us???

HEY! Im not a mod today but we arent allowed to discuss that.

Ok, I’ll stop talking about it.

He’s a determined guy, he will probably go through with it despite the discomfort and believe that it is a ‘healing reaction’ - temporary discomfort that means you’re healing.

He is a non smoker and once put on a nicotine patch made for heavy smokers giving up, because he thought it would get rid of the ‘rna’ in the vaccine that the vaccinated might have passed on to him. He was vomiting non stop for hours!

Haha! That’s funny!
