I keep getting intrusive thoughts that say I can’t be happy with him. He got worried and took me out to dinner, made me breakfast the next day, bought me coffee and watched secret life of pets with me. I pressured him into starting an associates degree in IT next year but wonder if it’s pressuring him too much. He says he did well in computers in high school but is terrible at math and isn’t the sharpest tool in the shed. I know this sounds bad but I kind of keep getting thoughts to end it so he doesn’t feel pressured to waste money on a degree he can’t get… He can’t support me right now with his money as a security guard. I can’t support him as I am just a volunteer…
@anon62973308 Does he know you have a mental illness? Finding a person who will accept that you are mentally ill is hard. I don’t think you should end the relationship if he is trying to better himself for the sake of both of you.
I’ve not had a problem looking for a relationship despite being very upfront about being ill. I’m also trying to loose weight and look much better at my original weight… I don’t think finding someone is the problem though I do feel attached to him… I called the emergency. Think intrusive thoughts are making me unstable. At my original weight I honestly found people who were much better.
@anon62973308 Well deal with your intrusive thoughts first since your mental health is a priority. If you are attached to your boyfriend then that means the relationship has been going along for quite some time. As for weight, exercise & nutritional dieting is key if you want to look much better.
Pay the voices no mind. Or is it intrusive thoughts? Anyway are your medications working for you? He could try something like IT. I don’t I’ve had trouble getting jobs off the job tree.
Hey @SP2342 I know you’ll find a job. Get all your symptoms under control and you can probably work a long time. @exhile thanks for your advice. I am starting a diet today! Hope you reach your goals too. I went to the ER and they upped my dose of anxiety meds and I’m having no problems dealing with the stress of starting volunteer work now. Feel almost symptom free. Hope it lasts…
Tell him to learn online first. It’s free. Best way to test the waters.
@anon62973308 So you were anxious about your boyfriend. Glad you upped your dosage at the Emergency Room.
