Firstly I am not here to brag or say that every can work full time. For 5 years I could not work period.
I just want to share that my schizophrenia journey has been so hard, like all of you. I managed to finish college in person and get a job in I.T. I have moved to a brand new city and state and have been able to find a fulfilling job full time. Some days are very hard, others are great.
I keep my secret of schizophrenia to myself, while others share their struggles with cancer or diabetes etc. We all know we suffer a lot in silence. You all are so tough and strong, even when we feel weak.
Just wanted to share my little hope. I believe I will continue to work full time. Being busy and distracted is one of the best tools I’ve found to combat sz.
This is great, and I’m very similar; I do better when I’m distracted intellectually and physically. This is why my last full-time job was so rewarding. I’m very glad to hear you’re doing better, @thomas.
Congratulations man, this is fansstic news. Exactly what i needed to see because i was just feeling down for this very reason. Well done man. Love this news!
That’s great to know. To be occupied is best for MI. Glad you found full time job. I too got a job just now recently and trying to learn about it. Hope for the best and fingers crossed.
That’s awesome man, I just now got well enough again that I can also work full time again, I feel like it helps. Like you said, it’s a good distraction from our symptoms. Also, working all day helps you sleep better at night.
My meds are a cocktail. Took a few years to dial in with a psychiatrist willing to keep trying to tweak it until it’s the best it can be at this time.
Seroquel XR 800mg
Lamictal 100mg
Klonopin 0.5mg (x2 daily)
Wellbutrin 150mg
Extra:
CBD tincture for panic attacks. I make my own. It’s cheaper and stronger. It helps me avoid taking that third Klonopin PRN.
