I work very hard, There’s nothing left of me to hold down a job. Having sz is my occupation. We are leaders. We make statements, we get knocked down, we work to recover.
Exactly!

It is a full time job to have SZ!
Definitely the hardest job I’ve had yet.
Same here that’s why we r disabled
Yeah managing your illness to keep yourself sane and in check is as taxing as any day job. It makes almost anything you do feel like multitasking.
Drug addiction is a job for me. (I was diagnosed with schizophrenia.)
I’ve got to be on constant guard over my thought patterns, ignore the voices, use my tools to help. By the end of the day I’m exhausted. Sure feels like work having this disease
I wish schizophrenia would fire me and then I could go get hired on at normal.
My “boss” says I can’t do nothin’.
No one tells me that so I do somethin quite often.
You’re a lucky one, @77nick77
Yes, when it comes to luck, I’m very lucky. Lucky thing.
I work four days a week. I actually find it a useful distraction having something else to focus on.
When I was unemployed sz took over my life, and it is possible to fight back.
It’s hard work keeping my mind from slipping. I’m nearly always on the brink of disaster.
I’ve gotten the idea of disaster under control, now. But I remember when I was running wild. It was a bad time. I hope the best for you, @BrianTex.
YES. I go through this as well. It is extremely overwhelming and hard to function with this illness each and every day.
This post is affirming for me! Thank you!
There have been times when I was on the brink of catastrophe, but I survived unhurt. I must have a spirit watching over me.
Don’t find the SZ to be that much of an issue these days. It takes a back seat to:
- blood sugar / diabetes
- heart condition
- diet / exercise
- trying to sleep with CPAP machine / fighting mechanical octopus
