Work From Home Crew

Represent!!

Haha, this coronavirus has me apparently doing data entry which I hate but it saves me from driving 2 hours a day to work and back. I am getting my kids from the ex-wife in about four and a half hours so then I will have co-workers ha.

I’m not taking this work from home too serious, I am only with this company til the contract is up in less than 2 weeks, the benefits of working at home is I can jam out to whatever I want to as long as I want and wear whatever.

Anyone else now working from home?

Hopefully you don’t have much data entry, me and Excel and a database are going to become more acquainted today.

I’m homeschooling Starlet, that counts!

I collect taxes. I was in the field yesterday out collecting taxes and didn’t get the memo. We can all work from home but I don’t have a printer at home. We can come in to the office if we want to though. This is for the next month.

And then the next month marks my one year anniversary and I can work from home anyway. I need to order a printer.

Welcome to the new world.

Well I have two printers at home but not IRS printers. They both have USB cables. I am going to see if I can use them. I don’t know if the drivers will install. I don’t have that kind of access.

I am going to process my payments I got yesterday and mail my collection letters and box everything up and go home. Everyone else did it already. On the days I have duty I still have to go in.

I just had my internet go out on me and I had to restart the laptop so I lost the link I need to decommission things, I am trying to get it from my boss but he is busy, so far rough start, then I am getting my kids at 1 so very little work is getting done today I suspect

My work iPhone is supposed to work as a hotspot for my work laptop but I can never get it to work. I will have to call IT. I was going to have to figure it out sooner or later anyway.

Can’t the printers save all the data you put through them? That would be a breach of confidentiality. I’d think you’d need irs printers

Yes. They won’t install the drivers for my personal printer. I figured out how to login to the network from my iPhone though. We print a lot of stuff. I will have to go to the office to print. I am not going to bring all my cases home. Without a printer I can’t really do anything but I am going to go work from home the rest of the day and tomorrow.

I am working from home right now in my boxer shorts. Taking a class on teleworking.

So far this is cool but all the restaurants are closed here.

I’m doing remote schooling and doing outreach for the clubhouse from home.

We have no choice in the SF Bay Area. All nonessential business is shut down for at least three weeks as we shelter in place.

Fortunately, I can telecommute from home. Unfortunately, many others cannot and this will be a financial hardship for them.

My wife is constantly bothering me at home when I am trying to work. . I may have to go back to the office.

But it’s still a nice break.

I just went and spent $132 at Office Depot on totes and a cart to bring all my case files home and to be able to bring them back to work when I go back. I have about 55 case files I am working on. And a lot of bank records and profit and loss statements and other financial documents and such.

I wonder if I can be reimbursed for any of this. I file a travel claim every month for mileage, parking and making copies at courthouses. Probably not though. We can’t go out in the field and meet with taxpayers any more. They said we can call them on the phone. The IRS doesn’t usually call people. We make house calls and I have credentials I can show them. They will think I am a scammer. This will be interesting.

I doubt I will be very productive without a printer. But I am going to work from home as best as I can.

Tomorrow we go under a stay at home order from the governor at 5 pm. I don’t know how long it will last.

Apparently working for the government we are considered essential and can still go to work. I didn’t get that from the memo. They said medical services, food places and convenience stores.

Still I brought everything home. When I have to print I will go in. I hate having to turn the alarm on and off though. I hope I won’t be the only one there.

I started working from home October 28, 2019. That’s when my job position changed, but still the same company. My husband will hopefully start working from home this week, just until the coronavirus pandemic clears up. We just bought him an $80 (USD) desk that we’ll set up soon.

And this morning I got an email not to go back to the office until further notice. I need to print some stuff.

Things change every moment.

Woo hoo for Friday!
