Work From Home Crew

My boss just sent us an email that he is having the mail held at the post office for the next 30 days.

This is going to go on for some time.

I feel like, with rent, student loans, and mortgages being delayed until after the pandemic, tax collection would be next on the list. People just donā€™t have money at the moment.

We pretty much canā€™t take any collection actions right now. We canā€™t file liens or levy. Business is slow. But we get a lot of checks in the mail. When we go back there will be a lot of mail to process.

Both my parents are working and havenā€™t really slowed down, mom works HR in a factory and dad is a custodian at a church.

I have been doing online ladder safety training today, a real thriller.

Yeah, I and my work team have all gotten a lot of online safety and health training done while weā€™re telecommuting.

The IRS effectively issued an evacuation order effective Monday. Everyone that can telework will.

I was supposed to go to Cincinnati next month. Have to cancel my hotel reservation.

This thing will take me through my year of probation and I will miss all this time I could have been learning with my instructor.

We still have Skype and telephone but I prefer face to face.

And after my probation year I can work from home anyway.

On a Skype meeting call now, not much is applicable to me and I am pretty bored, I am finding the work at home task to be hard to concentrate on especially since I only have like 17 days left til I transition out of this company to a new company.

I am I guess now battling reading Stephen Kings - The Stand vs working from home on training and whatnot.

Had a Skype meeting today again, just checking back in on stuff, I had a mini project I was assigned to do last week and I donā€™t know how well I actually completed it and itā€™s in the back of my mind.

It involves filling out and submitting electronic forms and then someone else gets the form and makes changes. I felt like I did it really easily but I may have overlooked stuff and I have no way of knowing if I actually did that I can think of.

Makes me anxious. I am getting up in 8 hours to do another round of it, probably have at least 2 more weeks at home.

I may get a printer now. I could do so much more work with a printer. The service said they wouldnā€™t do it but my manager requested one for us anyway. An office in Texas got some last week so he said we would at least try.

I am now at work, on the same floor they are actively testing COVID-19 crap, I have a nice mask on and same with gloves, not sure why my boss has to be so actively an asskisser but thatā€™s why I am here.

Oh well, guess I am doing my part in this whole mess even if it is just preventative maintenance.

I am currently working from home, started today.
Itā€™s been quiet, not a lot of customers, and the cases have been mostly quickly resolved.
I have an average handling time just shy of 11 minutes, and as long as it doesnā€™t get over 16, Iā€™m good.
Got a few reprimands from my superior for sloppy casefiling though. Whoops.

Itā€™s been great being able to take breaks when I want to, and chitchat with my roomies, but theyā€™re also working from home, so itā€™s been very quiet. I miss being able to chitchat with my team during slow periods.

Iā€™m a freelance translator so Iā€™ve always been working from home.

Recently, the server went down in our system so I had to wait hours and hours until the systen was restored! I finished work just an hour ago.

Phew. I think the servers are overloaded due to people now being stuck at home and working.

Now I am on my first zoom meeting, everyone was encouraged to wear crazy masks to make light of the situation, I just had an N95 mask I just got today but some people have pretty funny masks.

I have had a hard time, as I have said in other threads, in dealing with this junk but it did feel good to go to work, to some extent. The other part of me feels like I am exposing myself to the virus.

Anyone else used zoom lately?

We use Skype. Someone messaged me today for my address. They are going to ship my printer to my home.

@brandotron Itā€™s good your workplace is providing you with the appropriate PPE. That should help reduce the risk of exposure. Did your workplace show you how to ensure proper fit if the N95 and also how to properly don and doff your N95 to ensure you donā€™t contaminate yourself?

I am going to be honest and say no, I know I have learned it in the past as in over a year ago but I donā€™t remember how honestly.

You can Google information regarding proper fit and donning/doffing the N95 respirator mask. There are also some good videos out there.

Hereā€™s some info from the CDC:

This is a clever way to take off the N95 and store it for re-use:
