Why is the second matrix movie no good?

I mean it has all the action, explosions and story. Yet it is cack

I love the original Matrix movie but find it to be a bit triggering.

I saw it when I was like 12 and thought it was boring and confusing. I heard if I saw it these days I’d like it way more. First one was way easier to follow for a child.

Because the sequels are convoluted. There are too many characters, their goals become increasingly unclear, and the rules are constantly changing. Then the series finishes with a stalemate, a downbeat anti-climax that makes everything seem kind of pointless.

It’s like the Star Wars Trilogy ending with Han Solo crippled, Leia dead, and a ceasefire agreement that left Palpatine and the Empire still in power.

The followup movies were more like video games rather than a movie.

I like the first Matrix better than the 2 sequels. My delusion tells me The Matrix is one of the movies my alter ego/other personality wrote. One of many.

I never knew what was happening in any of them. The action was also kinda silly looking compared to current stuff.

Because the Wachowsky brothers did the second and third The Matrix movies, Animatrix and the Matrix video game in LESS time than they spent doing the first movie(I mean the whole process not just filming), too many projects. This is my guess, but they probably wanted to get them out there while there was still buzz around the first movie so they rushed it.
