Legend says if you have schizophrenia you will have to take medication in your lifetime,no excuse
Waiting for a cure …haha …!!!
Some people get better, some people get worse. It is what it is.
Nobody wants cancer, heart disease, a stroke, or sitting through a Celine Dion concert for 5 hours that your friend dragged you to either. But sometimes terrible things happen to you that you just have no choice about.
I have been on medication for 8 years.I don’t know if I will recover or if I need to take medication for life?
1% have it for life or there abouts. A large percentage of psychosis sufferers recover enough to not need meds. If your multi episodic or one of those 1% it’s another story.
Prognosis has improved significantly with medications. Before meds a lot of us were in institutions for a long time. I’ve met people who were. As meds get better prognosis improves. Some of us live pretty decent lives these days.
Cure probably isn’t too far away with increases in medical technology.
What positive symptoms do u have…gtx
I resigned myself to taking medication for life years ago. I haven’t seen much success when people go off of their meds.
I can’t sleep and bad mood
Maybe you just don’t know and haven’t meet one that tells you so
If I go by what I’ve seen on these forums for the past 7 years, the people who take their meds seem to be more successful at going to school, working, or having marriages etc than people who do not take medication. It does not mean the more successful people are “superior” or “better” than the people off of meds. It just seems people who take meds function better. And I’ve seen a lot of people on here.
I wholeheartedly agree @77nick77 it’s the only proven method. Everything else is just window dressing really. It has it’s place for certain individuals but the bulk of getting well is medications. There’s no other way around that and watching these boards for a while certainly shows you that!
