It’s designed to promote thoughtful replies and eliminate posts like" “+1, I agree, Yes, No,” and such.
Oh so THAT is why people do that.

Yeah it needs to get changed
Out of lazyness I often just put stop marks:
Eg “I agree…”
But it kinda looks like I am leaving a tacit presumption in reply, like I am being sarcastic or something.
