When i was in the hospital is strictly no coca cola. One of the patients got in trouble for smuggling in one bottle
Decaf coffee only too.
When I was in a group home for people with psychiatric disorders, drug problems and the like, for about 6 months, there was a no caffeine rule as well. People actually snuck in caffeine products when we went shopping and whatnot.
Glass bottle or plastic?
Caffeine increases aggressive behavior and worsens almost every mental illness.
My last two psych hospitals had soda machines at lunch and dinner and they had Coke or Pepsi and even real coffee
Last time I was in the nuthouse it was decaf coffee only.
Like the weird thing was we could have had 2 strong coffees a day (no one looked how mich coffee granules we were putting) but no cola??? In a bottle??
Glass bottles make great weapons.
I meant plastoc bottles
It is sold in both so I wasn’t sure what you were referring to.
is calfee free coke aloud in them
The one time I was in the hospital they had regular coffee every morning. I was drinking a lot of water then and don’t know what the other options were for drinking.
So it would be better for my mental health, if I would quit all caffeine products?
I drink tons of caffeine, either through black tea or coffee daily in huge amounts and occasionally coca cola.
Never heard of such as you said, makes me think.
I don’t think anyone wants to experience my level of agression when someone keeps me from caffeine long enough to experience withdrawal
ehh, I mean the disorders that land people in hospitals. Nobody is in the psych ward because they have trouble getting out of bed. People go to the psych ward because they are a danger to themselves or others. Caffeine increases risk of psychotic episodes, increases anxiety, increases irritability, and increases the energy people have to act on their impulsive ideas. It isn’t a universal truth for everyone, but it is a general trend that makes staff not want to take the risk.
The skeptic in me thinks the nurses banned caffeine as a form of crowd control. Ie makes their life easier - not ours.
Pretty sure they would put Haldol in the mashed potatoes if they could
My outpatient psych clinic has always banned caffeinated coffee, but has diet only colas with caffeine in the vending machine.
