I even tried out driving grain truck for a farmer on aps. It didn’t go that great on zyprexa.

Driving is scary sometimes but I do and pull it off every day – I have a small car and it’s a little wavy on the freeway, but it’s no big deal

I drive on AP’s. I believe if your hallucinations become a hazard they can suspend your license, but I’ve only heard of that happening a few times for someone with psychosis.

I can drive.

There was a time when I was delusional and driving was a bad idea, but I’m much much better now and have no problems distinguishing fantasy from reality. I just don’t have a car at the moment… but I drive my mom’s sometimes.

I got schizophrenia in 1980 at age 19. I didn’t have a car or drive again until 1982. I drove until 1990 and I moved into a board & care home where the owner didn’t allow any client to drive. I got a car in 1997 and have been driving every since. I drive in a very congested area and since 1997 I’ve had one accident (with another car) that was my fault.

When I was 16, before schizophrenia I was driving on the freeway in my Honda Accord and I fell asleep at the wheel, swerved in into the median, woke up, jerked the wheel to get back on the road, lost control and hit a guardrail, resulting in a roll over…
I’m unsure of how fast I was going, probably around 70 mph ----- I had a small lump on my head, fine otherwise
That is the only accident I’ve been in that was my fault

Is your head still deformed till now?

No. Just a small lump, it went away in a week or two

I did a car accident near my house but i was wearing the seatbelt and going 10 mph I didnt drive since then. no one advised me not to drive before the accident

Its been 3 years since the last time i have driven a car i dont want to drive until there is no drug affecting my mind when driving or until i quit the drugs

I still can drive, but i voluntary handed in my licence cause of my asthma. I usually smoke when driving and my partner at the time convinced me its a reasonable thing to do. They are sz don’t function very well on APs (motoric movement).

The meds and disorder can affect perception and motor function and then there’s the delusional framework. I had ideation whilst driving and whilst soon on meds didn’t drive for a while for safety reasons.

I’ve always been a very bad driver. I finally turned in my license seven years ago and have never looked back.

I drive as well. When i first started meds i got into two accidents. But as ive gotten used to them my driving has gotten better. It does cause me some paranoia on occasion. I think a lot while im driving and sometimes i get myself worked up
