Right now I’m enjoying Gerhard Richter.
My Grandpa is my favorite, he’s a professional artist. But outside of him, probably vincent van gogh
Fra de Angelico.
the stary night by vincent vangoh
We have this local artist, davev pollot, that i really love. He draws remakes of like horror movies and video games and stuff.
I like Claude Monet. He would have a ‘series’ of paintings that were of the same landscape, 10-100. Some would take him 1-2 years! He went out to his garden every day at the same time to get the perfect lighting. Then when the war went on, he didn’t leave his house but instead, decided to take in wounded soldiers.
Sad for losing Thomas Kincaid. He painted the world I would like to live in.
His friend that left him on Christmas Eve because they got in a fight and wanted to paint in Paris, didn’t like where Vincent was living after he stayed there with him for awhile with him; told him to draw from imagination. Vincent said he didn’t like to because he felt too connected with nature. Well when he finally did draw from imagination he was in a mental institution and the staff let him use his paints, that is when he painted starry night. It was a collaboration of different sights he observed all in one, and one of the most famous paintings in history!
I once read somewhere that vincent van gogh cut his ear because of hearing things. Im not sure if it is true
No he did have hallucinations, but he cut his ear off during a psychotic episode after drinking absinthe alcohol. He didnt remember doing it, but gave the ear to a prostitute as a present at a local get together Christmas Eve. That was when he was first hospitalized.
He got so upset with his friend leaving it drove him to forget what he was doing and trigger psychosis
The perils of self-medication! That said, modern absinthe is not only delicious, it’s also quite safe to drink.
Self medication=😵
I think absinthe is illegal in US, ha
edit: Alex Grey. He has such a unique style.
Sienna Morris. She’s a local artist. We have one of her prints. They’re really cool. She does numberism. She draws completely with numbers and formulas. This is the one we have.
I’m not sure I could!
Sienna Morris… I’ll check her up
The Borg according to Sienna Morris.
