No. You’d get too much folic acid.
Thanks @everhopeful but I have to stick with my multivitamin
You could try drinking copious amounts of decaffeinated coffee
I drink a lot of decaffeinated coffee now and it definitely suppresses my appetite.
Yes I can do this…I bought some decaf recently.
Thanks @everhopeful
Go with the med that causes less weight gain.
I mean Depakote if that causes less weight gain than risperdal.
I gained 100 pounds over 2 years when I was on Seroquel. Now I’m on clozapine and not actively gaining anymore, but I’m not losing weight either, even tho I walk every day and swim a few times each week. Honestly, I kind of wish I could experience the weight loss I had a few years ago when I was psychotic and thought the food supply was poisoned…I dropped like 30 lbs in a couple of months. I’m so fat now and have all kinds of physical problems, and docs are like "just eat less and move more"
I became a zombie on Risperdal, I changed to abilify, it was better, but I relapsed somewhere in between now I’m on Flurephan or something like. It’s an injection monthly. It is affordable, in south africa the meds and doctors are expensive. I wish I could leave. This place is a third world full of poverty. I’m blessed to have a hard working father. My children might have no luck like that with my sickness.
Edit
What works is a no carb diet, no sugar, no rice, bread or potatoes.
I stopped risperidone as soon as I gained 10 kilograms of weight
But just as when I was taking abilify I also gained weight
I can’t eliminate bread, rice and pasta completely this is my problem.
The cravings for carbs is so strong!
Risperdal does that to me too.
I eat and eat and eat and I’m ballooning
That was also my problem with resperidal I would be hungry even right after I ate a big meal
