Gaining so much weight

I’m watching my portions but I’m still gaining so much weight on the Risperdal. Has this happened to anyone else?

I gained 85 lbs on Risperdal.

I think it’s not the best med for you.
The best med should have a maximum of effects and minimum of side effects.

I didn’t have any weight gain on Risperdal, but it was also ineffective for me.

Happens to me with pretty much every atypical I’ve tried. Worst was saphris. Still happens with the haldol, but not nearly as bad.

Well I’m on Risperdal and weigh 280lbs. When I switched from Zyprexa I weighed 330-340. I first lost weight on Risperdal. I was down to 220, but I since put on 60lbs. But it is not as bad as when I was on Zyprexa.

All the “newer” meds cause weight gain for me. Not to mention a crazy activating effect. So I usually respond way better to the older medications.

I’m on perphenazine right now. It doesn’t cause me any weight gain…it has some risks but I’m willing to take them because it works well for me.

You should possibly explore different medications if ur gaining so much weight.
