A therapy group i was in had a lady who had that experience she said that she never had voices until she was medicated. Im not sure if she had delusions or why she was medicated but i think an experience similar to yours.

Not me. I went into full-blown psychosis and the meds saved me.

I was not sz before meds. Psychosis happened suddenly and meds got me down on the ground

Actually this is the ideal situation according to research. If you get diagnosed earlier you have a better prognosis. Mine was very insidious and no wonder it took a long time to recover.

I taken abilify the first time in 2010 for dépression with deroxat and it was miraculous. In only two weeks i did not in dépression. But two years After i cold turkey my abilify and i did a psychosis three months After .
In 2018 i tried a withdrawal of abilify in monotherapy and between August 2018 and the end of this year i decreased to 5 mg to 2 mg and i was well but After my withdrawal was too fast and i did a psychosis.
And you ?.

Well. 15 years sz and counting. And they started me on zyprexa which I have been on ever since, except for a few failed attempts switching to other aps. I want to quit zyprexa because it’s a hard life taking it. My best bet is seroquel since I need something to take over sedative effect. I will try when the time is right.

there are many new medications as well. I think you could try something as zyprexia causes a lot of weight gain. Not good for the heart you know.

Yeah, weight has always been a issue. I managed to stay under 100kg the whole time, but it takes a lot of consideration to do so.

Well, you are correct if it works for you…I gained a lot of weight on Zyprexia in a very short amount of time so I switched. It gives me a pretty strong partial response, so I am certain if I mixed it with Abilify it would have worked.

I started zyprexa 2007. I tried quitting on a few occasions. But never got much further than a month before relapsing. The problem now is drug induced insomnia. Thanks to sleep supplements I can take 5mg zyprexa. If not I would be forced to take 10mg, even though I don’t need it for symptoms.

I dunno…but after 9 years being on Latuda/Saphris it’s just made it worse even those more innocent AP’s. They’re less noticeable but even they increase inflammation and worsen cognition and negatives…i defiently feel I had more energy back then on some level but I’m also 9 years older now and just wiser with the ammount of aerobic exercise I’ve put into this condition lol

I think they say that if you’re psychotic for six months or more you’re officially schizophrenic.

I don’t understand the question.

There are a percentage of people that can not tell if they have schizophrenia or not.

I told my psychiatrist a few months before my actual break that I thought I was psychotic. She prescribed abilify. I took it once and didn’t like the way it made me feel.

Sometimes I wonder this because I was diagnosed with psychosis at age 11 and put on antipsychotics at 11. Diagnosed SZ at 16. I wonder if my brain forming on antipsychotics didn’t damage it and make me schizophrenic.

It’s possible. No one researches long time cognitive effects of being on anti psychotics it seems.

On balance it’s more likely to this then dopamine sensitiation but everyone is always looking for the answers and it is convenient to blame the external world
