I use facebook daily, I even help run a meme page with 32k likes & get about 80k reach every week, Mostly corny things & adult humor.
The only thing that really bothers me about facebook is I can be thinking about something & a sponsored ad will pop up about something I was thinking or saying. spooky
I have a Facebook page but don’t use it. I isolated myself from all my friends years ago and it’s sad for me to see them all together and happy with their children and families. I mean, I’m happy for them but sad for me because I was supposed to be right there with them.
I use to be sad too, to see all my friends married with children & doing all sorts of cool things but I’ve come to realize everyone is unique in their own right & not all of us is meant to be the way others are. I now look at it as an advantage because I most likely would have hit very turbulent times for a young family once I came to terms with my illness. Probably be divorced paying child support on several children.
There was an article recently about mobile phones listening to people and sending info to marketing networks. The article recently. Will have to see if I can find it again to link.
This is one reason Facebook and other apps ask for access to your microphone it isn’t just for calling on messenger.
××××edit to add××× this is in response about ads earlier up the thread
I use fb daily. It’s a great way to keep in touch with friends and family members scattered across the world.
… And a good way to get my daily dose of memes.
I also follow some news sites.
FB makes my schiz worse. Everything is personalized to you. There has been many times that something I thought in my head popped up five minutes later. I sometimes think I’m being threatened or affirmed through fb.
