I did the FTNA test years ago to see where in Europe or Native American came from and under “Origins” it has European markers that are considered under “non European” apparently it’s an old type of European that hasn’t been identified yet, that is being tested still. Could I have come from Neolithic Europeans? My results has me at 59% no European in Europe. I looked into it “non European” doesn’t mean “Not European” it just means it’s a European that hasn’t been identified yet. Have any of you done DNA testing?
I know I have the Sammi tribe from Finland on my chart. They’re considered an old European tribe. So far the test says I’m Finnish, Swiss, Italian, Greek, Spanish, Afghan, North Russia, North African, and Apache (Native American) Oh! And Jewish.
I’ve tested with 23andMe,Family tree DNA, Ancestry, My heritage and Living dna. I am mostly British and Irish. 23and Me,FTDNA and My heritage give me varying amounts of Scandinavian.
The best guide to ancestry though is reckoned to be your cousin matches .
haven’t done mine yet but mom did. she was mostly scots irish with some European. dad hasn’t done his yet either.
I don’t really like the colonial protestant scots irish heritage because of the troubles and the association with brittish monarchy but it’s my heritage so I will have to accept it.
dad is probably Scottish or again scots irish. maybe i’ll get him a dna kit for christmas
I had mine done on ancestry. The results were really inaccurate a few months later I logged onto my account and it said we have your new updated results. As they get more DNA samples to compare to supposibly the results get more accurate. Updated results were as follows 47% German, 37% England or Wales, and 16% Scotch/Irish
It’s interesting to know were one comes from. My dad hasn’t tested either. I’m guess Scots Irish and Spanish as well, because they have Irish, Spanish names.
I did an ancestry dna test. First they said I was 88 percent Eastern European and the rest Finnish or Western Russian. Then ancestry changed it to 100 percent Baltic. My parents were born in Latvia so that makes more sense.
I have been thinking of taking this DNA test, but have not done it yet. I think that I am 100 % Finnish, at least all my ancestry is from the area where I live now. But who knows ?? The DNA test results may be different. Maybe I’ll take a DNA test in the future.
