Which medication are you taking?

Hello, my name is Josh and I was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia three years ago at the end of 2020.

I’ve been on this medication ever since:

In the morning:

15 mg aripiprazole
40 mg ziprasidone

In the evening:

20 mg olanzapine
40 mg pipamperone (on demand)

Now I would like to know how you, if you take a similar dose, get through the day without ultimately doubting your life.

I wish each of you all the best.

That’s a lot of meds. I used to be on 20mg zyprexa. That alone was enough to kill all my motivation. But I got through it. I guess you just have to believe that at some point things can improve. It did for me.

Have you tried adjusting your meds? Maybe it would be possible to try reduce one or more of your meds. Anyway, you should discuss this with your doctor if you haven’t already.

Good evening @Mr_Hope, yes, I have already mentioned this several times - we even tried it once, but the reduction resulted in renewed positive symptoms.

What my doctor noticed above all was that I have pronounced negative symptoms (currently, with the medication above).
I have now been taking an additional medication (antidepressant (cipralex, 5 mg)) in the morning for two weeks.

Vraylar as an AP, Wellbutrin for depression, and a lot of other meds for non psych issues. I also use supplements.

I see. Well, just because you can’t make med changes right now, doesen’t mean that you can’t in the future.

Just got to work hard and try staying sane. Do activities that promote mental health while avoiding all the “noise”.

I hope things get better for you.

I am on no medications at the moment. I almost convinced my wife and mom that I am not in need of it as I am busy most of the times and able to address their needs.

But I will know when to go to doc and if something happens my wife might know before me. So hope it goes well.

I’m on clozapine. It works wonders. Highly recommended except for the fact it’s expensive.
