I love ya people slight_smile:hah just wanting to say this now
Whatever…
But whats the best book ever in your opinion? Its good to know it too. Maybe ill have some ideas of reading some books in the future. Personnaly I read tons of books in my life, but my sz doesn’t allow me to decide which one is good( I just read). I have memory problems, cognitive problems sometimes etc etc.
I remember I liked ‘‘Light in august’’ of Faulkner but it was because of the marginal there. Lolita was good too. But I cant say they were genius ones.

I’m into fantasy novels, or sci-fi fantasy. One of my favorites, and the last series I read (Quite a while back actually, I should get back to reading if I can manage.), was Book of the New Sun by Gene Woolfe.
Fun, but could be confusing at times. Not that easy a read. But good.
The entire Harry Potter series!!!
First love by ivan Turgenev
Mark Twain’s Pudd’n’head Wilson! Best book ever!
My top 3 personal faves are probably Mark Twain’s Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. Siddhartha by Herman Hesse. And a little book titled Ironweed.
I think William Kennedy wrote Ironweed.
My favorite books are all older
Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein
Les miserable
And grapes of wrath
Lots of good books.
I’ll stick with the Classics.
If I had to choose just one book and not a series, I’d take Don Quixote by Cervantes. Very funny all the way through, wish I still had my copy.
Frankenstein is wonderful! My daughter had to read it this year and hated it. I loved it!
Did anyone read the Canterbury Tales? If you have an understanding of British politics and religion of the time, it makes for great fun.
The hot zone is one of my favorite books. It’s about how Ebola came to America. It’s a true story.
This, to me, is a ridiculous question. There are legions of great books out there that can’t be compared to one another. If I had to pick one I would say it is the Douhay Rheims Bible.
When I was in grammar school, I tried reading the Canterbury tales, but for some reason it was written in middle english instead of being translated. Or maybe I was just really dense at the time. I think I later got to read the translated version and it was amusing.
It’s hard to choose just one book, hm maybe ‘Fluke’ by James Herbert it’s about a man who is reincarnated as a dog.
Maybe the book I found hardest to put down ‘The Count of Monte Cristo’ very gripping.
Did you read ‘Night and day’ Anna, what do you think of it?
I had to learn to read and speak in middle English. I memorized a passage of the text for a class on Chaucer. I can only remember the prologue now.
I got a copy of the Canterbury Tales for Christmas.
It’s on my to-read list
I tried reading Brave New World last night.
Best ever Catch 22 by Joseph Heller. It’s just so very good. Funny and absurd and says so much about modern life and the stupidity of something like the miliatary.
Or The Lord of The Rings by JRR Tolkien. Amazing fantasy construction.
I’ve read more than once Brave New World, The Giver, and The Host… people my top 3 cause I can reread them over and over again…
Anything by Philip K Dick
