Do u guys have any ideas sleep and ap.or which ap is good for sleep…!!!

Zyprexa was good. Clozaril was good but too much. Seroquel was good. Saphris good. A few others I tried made me sleep. Like Thorazine in the hospital but that’s just evil.

People seem to like seroquel for sleep. I’ve never tried it, personally.

APs always made it hard to wake up the next day for me. I’m taking Trazadone and Benadryl right now and wake up feeling refreshed. I think Trazadone is an antidepressant. I haven’t noticed any side effects either. :sunny:

Ya I remember seeing my pdoc when I was on prolixin injections and I said to him “it doesn’t make me tired, but it regulates my sleep cycle” that was a pretty profound thing for me to say and realize back then I was so psychotic. I think abilify does the same thing. It doesn’t knock me out like clozaril would, but it makes my sleep cycle “healthy” and “regulated”…

This coming from someone who had major insomnia before he started anti-psychotics. That was one of the major arguments for my weed smoking, is I could finally sleep after all those years!!!

If I’m off meds, then my sleep cycle is all over the place.

In High School I went to bed at 4 am and woke up at 7 am. Then I would come home and take a 3 hour nap. I was a zombie, delusional in high school. I guess they’d call that the “prodromal phase” :grimacing:

No just the two I mentioned. I was on Seroquel for years and slept a lot. I’ve had insomnia since coming off it. The Trazadone and Benadryl work great now and it takes a lot to make me fall asleep. :sunny:

risperdal is good

Clozapine is satisfying for me - makes you very sleepy in 20 minutes and i sleep 8-9 hours. But the winner for me is Depakine Chrono - it made me sleep for 16 hours and i was sleepy all the time (oh im happy that i dont take it anymore).

Amitriptyline made me sleep - it is a tricyclics antidepressant.

Not an ap, but atenolol, a beta blocker, just knocked me right out. I had had such bad anxiety and insomnia before taking it. I felt like I caught up on a year’s sleep in the first couple of weeks.

Seroquel 50mg :sleeping_accommodation:

If I’m Seroquel XR…over 400 MG’s I sleep almost all day. Also it would block my dreams, or at least make me forget them.I know it’s not a sleep med, Anyway

Have you ever looked into ASMR on Youtube? It’s basically people doing random stuff like tapping, paper wrinkling, brushes, real boring stuff and their voices are a real low whisper. It relaxes me plus bores me and helps me fall asleep.

Option 2: https://mynoise.net/, they do have an iPod app but they’re a website focused on relaxing sound generators and is a noise-machine website. Technically they do offer free sounds on the web, but a donation of a mere $5 (US dollars) you unlock everything on the website. If you get the iPod ap it’s a one time fee of $9.99 to unlock all sound generators.

Option 3: Again with you-tube I have several playlist made of ambient sounds from video games/movies. They’re not music from the movies…it’s like an extended version of a sound. Just an example: https://youtu.be/P93kbL0G0ww?list=PLBkEYA6u6ZC1ADS9PGr22F7skjmPGCEvp They’re not all 12 hours, some are only an hour to hour and half…I particularly like the longer ones for when I’m trying to sleep

Basically the pine type Antipsychotics can make you sleepy.

Quetiapine - Seroquel
Olanzapine - Zyprexa
Clozapine - Clozaril
Asenapine - Saphris
