When you feel overwhelmed do you have any simple grounding techniques

I find that counting in my head helps. At a slow to medium speed. :sheep:

Only thing that works for me is meditation and playing plants vs zombies on my phone

If I’m really stressed masterbation works if it’s alot of tension in my body

Anyway I suppose.

For example for me, I’ve just had a bad night of sleep, from excess caffeine… It’s giving me a sped up mind.

sounds like maybe an hyperactive response to caffeine induced depression or something? Maybe its like a self-preservation mechanism. in which case i think the best thing to do would be self care. Just my opinion

I use the 5-4-3-2-1 method for grounding, especially during an anxiety attack. You look around and find 5 things you can see, 4 things you can hear, 3 things you can touch, 2 things you can smell, and 1 thing you can taste. It just works to kind of take you out of your head and focus on the external world.

I stick my tongue up to the roof of my mouth. That helps. I also curl my toes sometimes.

Try doing it in the morning with some coffee. Total game changer. :+1:t2:
