i think whenever you are writing something and it comes to the attention of a moderator, i think the moderator has to take into account how the message will be taken by the whole community, how others might see it etc, i think if you just step back and put yourselves in their shoes then you would realise that it isn’t all about you and what you think, its about everybody else and how they will take it,
i think the mods do a good job, maybe a few slight annoyances sometimes but i have to admit i haven’t seen hardly any crap except when people discuss atheism or something, the boards are really good compared to the last forum,
however i would worry if someone was unwell and they were posting some weird stuff if they got banned and it had an adverse affect on them,
cof cof… religion is highly triggering for me… are you sympathetic with that?
I think the mods and the admin do a good job of supporting the unwell and keeping this forum clean of too much disputes.

I think people only get suspended, and it’s in extreme circumstances.

The long suspensions are only handed out to the most frequent offenders, the ones who will not take any sort of direction, and who revert to the improper behaviour the moment they get back. We had two of those on Christmas Day. The policy is now that those who keep reoffending frequently in the same manner have their suspensions increasing in length. While this is ostensibly to help give them motivation to change their ways (it won’t from what we’ve seen so far), it at least gives the moderators a break.
