Please tell me again, how much Seroquel do you need to take for it to work as antipsychotic? Im on 100 mg. I don’t want antipsychotic effect
200-300 mg is the starting dose for psychosis. Highest doses are 800-1000 mg. I don’t know how someone could function at those doses but I took 400 mg daily.
For years I have taken 25 mgs. at bedtime to sleep. It is good!
For years, I was on 4 mg risperidone, 240 mg ziprasidone, and 100 mg of quetiapine (Seroquel). When I recently lowered the dose of Seroquel to 50 mg, I started experiencing psychotic symptoms that I am still undergoing. Yes, 50 mg of Seroquel can make a difference in psychosis. @All-eyes-on-me @Mars
I was up to 150mg of Seroquel XR years ago.
Anything above 100 mg is usually enough for psychosis control but it also depends on the individual person
I took 800 mg seroquel when I was on it @anon55055794
I had such a bad experience with it. I hope works better for you.
My dr said it’s highly individualized but there are rough guidelines.
I was on 100 mg of the XR and it helped with psychosis
Yes I want to tapper down to 25 mg Seroquel as well. 100 mg is too much
Been told 300mg of Quetiapine is a theraputic dose by my CPN.
Doses around 100mg are usually used for anxiety.
Im on 100mg in the morning - 300mg at night
I’m taking 400 x 2 daily of Seroquel along with 80 x 2 Geodon daily. I’ve never noticed much effect from the Seroquel until I didn’t get it for five days and I was more antsy than I cared to be.
I stake 650 qutiapine at the moment. It’s not unusual that people take 200 mg for psychosis.
@anon55055794 you are going to become unstable on fifty or twenty five mg of seroquel…can’t you see that??
I always thought Seroquel was an antipsychotic. Hmmm. Well after passing out I quit taking it. I hope y’all can get better with it.
I’m not one of the forcer. If you don’t feel well on Seroquel at 100 mg you can go down on a lower dose but personally I would prefere to swap the Seroquel to a more tolerable meds.
As I use to say to mommy if you don’t like your meds I’m not going to force you after all you are 78 years old so junior will keep quiet.
I sincerely hate every antipshycotic meds in the whole world - HATE it.
So I asked the psych nurse today “How comes that my sex drive has returned so intensely? Does that have anything to do with the Seroquel?”
And she said NO none of the antipshycotic meds increase the sex drive, it usually make it go away. And that pisses me off. No one should take meds that make their sex drive go away.
Well Im happy that mine is back.
Dear girl that’s good but when I took Abilify I got hyper sexual and that was the only one I linked to that side effect.
To be quite hournest the Clopixol has deminished my sex drive to almost nothing. Yes there were times when I was totally impotent because of large doses of antipsychotics.
If you are a bad lover you must understand that you don’t stand a chance by any girl.
I found out that I could not offer that what most ladies expect so that caused 30 years og solitude life style.
If you’ve lived alone as long as I have you’ll find out that you can not be reinstated in society,
Im so sorry to hear that. im Sorry that you have been lonely. That makes me hate antipshycotic even more. I have had two lovers on meds and none of them could perform in bed. That is so sad. And humiliating for both them and me. It should be unacceptable with this side effects.
So my lover now doesnt take antipsychotic, but unfortunately he is very sick by the psychosis.
Well if you expect being a good lover the antipsychotics will prevent you from being that for most people.
But if you expect noting but getting free from very painfull psychotic symptoms than you’ll succeed in most situations.
Yes I understand that. It was a little easier for me as a woman at least. I didnt have to get a “hard on”
