When starting a new antipsychotic…

Has anyone ever had an antipsychotic make you worse at first but then after that make you better? Like at first the hallucinations increase but in about a week you’re better than you were before you started the med?

There is some debate as to whether partial dopamine agonists like abilify can do this. Especially if you had been on APs before the abilify

Yeah Abilify makes my moods unstable in the beginning then things cool down later and I feel more stable

Time period is two weeks ! For AP to work at its best. As far as I know !

Does the rexulti work for you otherwise?

I have taken haloperidol, olanzapine, respiridone, quietipine, paliperidone, and rexulti

I have a number of symptoms as do most

Most of those i never took for any serious length of time

Paliperidone was beneficial but became intolerable

Abilify made me worse at first. I hear its common. Idk. If there’s a phisological pharmacological explaination.
