It took me some googling to find the actual publication. It’s very bad when news sites avoid links to the actual scientific papers, and don’t date their news item (2018).

A study published in 2020, in which first-episode patients were followed up for 5 years. The authors write that they found increased taurine levels in the serum of patients. I wonder what that could mean.

Metabolomics approach revealed robust changes in amino acid and biogenic amine signatures in patients with schizophrenia in the early course of the disease (Parksepp et al., 2020)

I’ve been taking 500mg daily for a while now. I do think it’s beneficial.
