I’m aware it’s done on men for reducing risk for some health conditions. I’ve personally never been circumcised but personally, I’m happy about it because I always get to decide whether I want to be in any point in my life compared to someone who was forced to be circumcised as a child who didn’t have that choice so if they’re not happy with it well they’re screwed.
I have no opinion
Either way is fine
I am not okay with genital mutilation of children for relgious reasons.
I am circumcised, for medical reasons.
It happened as an adult, with my full consent.
The surgery implied a local anaesthetic and didn’t pose any health threat. A nurse joked during the procedure: “You’re gonna have to avoid sex for at least a year.” And then the doctor: “Yeah, I hope your partner has a back-up plan”.
Luckily (for them) I didn’t move. Just retorted: “Careful with the stitches, b1tches”! (Ok I made up the last part).
I’m glad you got to decide whether you want to be circumcised or not, some people I met as adults got circumcised as a child and they didn’t want it but they can’t do anything about it because parents decided. And they didn’t have done for any medical reason they were suffering from it.
I wouldn’t have parted with my foreskin if not for the medical issue.
I am against children having to go through that.
I personally believe that too, I was also ashamed for not being circumcised in my religious school cuz other students made fun of me for it.
As per logic it’s very useful. Healthy
I am circumcised and love it…it doesn’t bother me they circumcise babies.
That’s great that you love it, but what’s your opinion on people who got circumcised as child for religious reasons against their will or for no medical reason and later regretted in life unlike you?
I was left with almost no feeling in the head of my penis because of nerve damage.
I’m so sorry
Being born in a third world country my circumcision was mainly for health reasons.
It’s overall healthier to be circumcised so they say
It don’t appeal to me.
I would much rather be circumcised than not. It also reduces AIDS acquisition rates substantially.
I think it’s a common issue for contrarians to harp on because of the fact that children can’t give consent. I have no argument against that and technically I think you got me here, but I personally like the operation and can’t imagine not having had it done.
It’s part of our culture like it or not.
If you were circumcised as a very young child, you have no idea how it feels like not to be circumcised cuz you don’t remember.
You contradicted one of your earlier statements.
Yes, it is part of culture. But if it’s being done for the sole purpose of its in our culture that’s quite weak argument.
I think female circumcision is plain horrible. I didn’t have a say in my penile clipping but oh well. Guess if they can grow some new foreskin on the back of a rat then maybe men will have a few options.
Ultimately doesn’t matter at this point.
In my opinion, female circumcision is inhumane .

Female circumcision, more accurately referred to as female genital mutilation (FGM), has no health benefits and is widely recognized as a violation of human rights. FGM involves the partial or total removal of the external female genitalia or other injury to the female genital organs for non-medical reasons.
The main points against FGM include:
-
Health Risks: FGM can lead to severe physical complications, including infections, chronic pain, difficulties in childbirth, increased risk of newborn deaths, and complications with menstruation and urination. It can also result in long-term psychological trauma.
-
No Medical Benefits: Unlike male circumcision, which has some medical justifications in certain contexts, FGM has no health benefits and can cause harm to the individual.
-
Human Rights Violation: FGM is considered a violation of the rights of girls and women. It is rooted in gender inequality and attempts to control women’s sexuality.
-
Social and Cultural Pressure: In some cultures, FGM is falsely believed to ensure premarital virginity and marital fidelity, or is linked to ideals of femininity and modesty. However, these beliefs are culturally constructed and do not justify the practice.
Global efforts are underway to eliminate FGM, and it is illegal in many countries. International organizations like the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations strongly oppose FGM and work toward its eradication.
I don’t agree with it sorry… It should be a choice
I was born with a foreskin that doesen’t cover most of it, but I doubt I would have a medical procedure to do it unless it was required, if it wasn’t so.
