What's your go to PRN?

personally I go the herbal route. ill take some valerian tea to calm me down when I get racing thoughts. about once a month I go to it. I also will sometimes use catnip from my garden to calm a racing heart.

what do you use? what for?

I have Truxal prescribed, so that’s what I take. Haven’t taken it long enough to know if it actually has the desired effect.
I used to use Seroquel, which worked fairly well except that it make me very, very tired.

I don’t have a prn now. But it used to be Cloneazepam.

I take 600mg L-theanine daily. So not really a prn.

I have gabapentin PRN but I almost never take it because it makes me feel high and I don’t like being out of control. It does curb panic attacks, though.

I also take melatonin PRN for sleep. I used to take NyQuil, but since starting acupuncture, a melatonin is sufficient.

Technically I have Klonopin (Cloneazepam) as PRN for anxiety, but I also take it every night to sleep. I very rarely will use it during the day because of how sleepy it makes me.

Klonopin because I’m allowed .5 mg a day but I only take .25 in the morning so I’m allowed another half of a pill anytime throughout the day I get a bad anxiety

my case worker told me she takes klonopin for anxiety. I was asking her about benzos, I didn’t know anything about benzos. was looking for something to deal with panic attacks. I was surprised my pdoc didn’t prescribe me anything to be honest…that’s why I use herbs.

I use Valium. I can use 5mg a day but I only use like 2.5mg every second day to help with my restless legs when I go to bed.

When I was in the hospital I got taken off of Ativan and she wouldn’t even give me a PRN prescription. Then upon my first appointment with my new doctor one of the first things he did wad prescribe me a benzo. Interesting to me.

I can have up to two 0.5mg Klonopin as PRN for panic, but I try to only take four tablets a week. It’s less effective if i take it too often.

I already fell into the trap of saving it all up to sleep at night. It very quickly stopped working for sleep and the rebound insomnia had me up until 2 or 3 a.m. i thought maybe if I slept earlier, I wouldn’t sleep until noon but that didn’t work out somehow…

Mine is Niacin 2 grams with a bit of baking soda to take the acidity away. The flush reaction feels nice, and my voices get quieter for a few hours.

Nothing at tha moment. But xanax seems to work best. Or seroquel would work but i dont really use it for as needed.

Up until a couple of weeks ago, I was taking diazepam. Then I learned that it can increase anxiety, so I haven’t stopped taking it. My goal is to go without it for 6 months to see whether or not my anxiety improves.

I have Oxazepam to help with a bit of everything without inducing sedation & also for calming my heart down when other meds turn it into overdrive. I do also have Ativan to help with crippling anxiety & the extreme urge to hurt myself, but I use it rarely due to it making me almost manic.
