I think we should have an annual ‘moderators day’ where we celebrate the mods. On that day, every user has the power to moderate posts less than 24hrs old, and suspend people for up to 5 minutes.
The idea is a) to give the moderators a day off, and b) to see what fun shenanigans we can do with our superpowers, c) to appreciate that they do a better job of it than we would do.

I wish at times that mods would simply fire a warning shot before shutting down a thread. Quite often, it’s just two people locking horns and it ruins it for everyone
