I can’t sleep. Every time I lie down, I have to get the bucket and throw up. I don’t think I need to go to the ER. I’m taking a dissolving antinausea tablet now. I can’t stop crying.
What would you do?

Ummmmm… I have gastroparesis and GERD… if that’s what you mean???
yes,I’ve just read.Terrible.Sorry @JustTrish
I am nausested every day. What helps me is a warm glass of sweet tea and a cool cloth on my face.
Thanks, @anon70049667 … I’m going through an episode, these last several days. I’m trying to keep myself together, physically. I’m hoping I’ll fall asleep soon.
See if the tablet helps in the next 30 min. If not go to the ER for fluids
I’m sorry you’re going through this @JustTrish . I would talk to my doctor and find out a way to prevent this from happening again. Is the problem because you ate or drank something that caused the nausea? Maybe it’s the time of day that you ate last that is causing this and so change your eating schedule. Maybe it’s your activities today that caused this or the time you went to bed?
Try sipping on baking soda water for your GERD.
I went to the Nutritionist on Wednesday. I’m having to increase what I’m eating, what I’m eating, etc. I want a steak! Lol
It knocked me out. I woke up about an hour ago lol
I’m glad you got some red
Honestly, if it was me, I’d find out what medicine was causing it and stop taking that medicine. I’d check with the doctor first but I mean if it was that bad, I wouldn’t want to be on it. Is it from a medicine?
If it’s not from a medicine I don’t know what to say anti-nausea medicines have never worked on me, I just throw up feel better and wait a few hours to eat again. I’ve never had nausea that’s lasted a full day outside of having the flu.
Really hope it subsides for you soon.
Thanks @agent101g.
I have gastroparesis and GERD. THAT’S what’s causing the symptoms. I may end up in the ER. I’m going to call my gi doc .
Thanks for being you. You rock!
Had a bad bout of puking where I’d just puke all the time, glad that the medicine change fixed it. So sorry you’re in such a situation. Very sympathetic to being kept awake from puking.
Yes, thanks. I ended up in the ER. They gave me fluids with electrolytes, iv meds, and ran labs. They also sent meds to the pharmacy.
Thanks for posting. You made me feel cared for. So, thanks!
The antipsychotic I take (perphenazine) is also an antiemetic. I’ve been on this medicine since I was 19, which was like 50 years ago. I’ve thrown up rarely in the past 50 years.
When I started drinking at age 17, I drank heavily and often puked. When they put me on perphenazine, it made that part of my life less messy. I didn’t realize it was the medicine making me stop puking. When I stopped puking from drinking, I figured my system just finally worked that out.
I wish I had that side effect! I’m on 24mg perphenazine, took 50mg phenergan, and am still nauseated and occasionally vomiting.
Seriously, if one goes to England, they are using perphenazine for sea sickness. Or that’s old news . . .
The GERD is from eating overly acidic foods all the time. You have too much stomach acid, and need to eat alkaline foods to calm it down. Try baking soda, which is strongly alkaline!
