Worked at a sandwich shop in the mall.
Babysitting was my first job, $2 an hour. Then I worked bagging ice for a convenience storeâŚloved that job, didnât have to interact with people, just scoop the ice, spin the bag, and tie it off.
My family says I worked at Taco Bell, but I have no memory of it at all. Must have been around the time I had ECT.
Soccer referee. I grew up loving the sport
McDonaldâs. Also saw disturbing things there you wouldnât expect to see.
I was a waiter in a restaurant at age 15
I had to deliverâŚnot sure how to call themâŚadvertisement âmagazinesâ. Know no English word for it. It was horrible. Heaps and heaps of them were delivered in my parents home. I had to put them together in a bundleâŚthen bring them to every house. Which I often procrastrinatedâŚwith the hallway full of them. My poor parents.
After, I was a cashier in a supermarket. Which was a bit scary to me, with my social anxiety and perfectionism. I did find my first boyfriend there. I was an insecure 16 y/o. He a highly confident 21 y/o and in university and with his own room in a student flat. I thought he was very adultlike and masculine. I canât remember much else of the job of that time.
I peddled newspapers when I was 12.
I mowed lawns for a old folks home when I was 14
12 years old I got paid under the table as a dishwasher for a resturant my mom slaved at for 18 years.
It was only a weekend job which paid $6 an hour. It paid for video games
Grit magazine delivery. I also helped a friend deliver newspapers prior to that.
The first employed job I had was at a steel related manafucturing plant. I had that job in high school.

Waiter at an Indian restaurant.
when I worked at a restaurant I worked the till

after the young couple finished thier meal I said âI will get your billâ
They said thanks and got up happy and left (they must have thought i was saying I will pay your bill in some kind of way.
I couldnt believe they walked out of the restaurant
The owner laughed and said dont worry about it as we were busy and had to attend to the others
Worked on a farm for one day (thats all I could endure), hoeing weeds. I was about 15.
Data entry for a large company. It was a summer job when I was 18.
I made .25 a day working for my great grandmaâs landlord and friend. Doing whatever she asked- weeding etc. Cannot remember how old I was. Between 8 and 10.
washing dishes at 13. mowed lawns during summer months as wellâŚsaved up enough to buy a cherry sound system when I was 15.
$.25/day?! Even at that age, thatâs terrible! I can see since it was helping your Grandma, $.25/hr. But not per day. Was she poor? If so, I get it. I think at 10, I made $2/hr babysitting.
barback at special imported beer bar.
Wasnât my grandma, was her landlord/friend. And it was my great grandma, they were from when .25 a day was a real wage. You know how older generations are, they never realize things go up in price when theyâre the ones paying a wage.
Also, this was in the early 80s. Penny candy was still a thing and cokes were .25 a small glass bottle.
