It will be helpful for you guys to tell me a little bit about your first job and what to expect as a newbie in the workforce.
I will be getting my first job this summer and hopefully making enough money for my car insurance + music, occasional fast food. That’s all I need. I live with my parents right now after falling ill at 17. That was two years ago.
It will be a big adjustment to work. No cakewalk. I’m also going to school this fall.
I used to work at Taco Bell. I was psychotic from week one, so it was entertaining, for lack of a better word. If you work there, you can expect to do either
register/customer service, which is highly unlikely if you have low social skills
Or 2) Everything. That includes dishes, frying, making food, possibly preparation if you work certain shifts, etc.
I wouldn’t worry about “the quick pace of fast food employment.” They don’t expect too much, simply because they’d have to fire 85% of those employed.
But this is from my experience. I wish you the best (:
my first job was in retail, I worked at a big name store. They trained me to work register then switched me to third shift as a soft lines (clothes) sales associate. the cash register was pretty easy the hardest part was when my fellow employees would take off and not help customers with their mulch or dirt (I worked lawn and garden for about 5 month). prepare for lazy co workers.
idk what to do really when i am able to work, its hard when you are looking for a certain job and only with 2hrs a day or 10hrs a week bc there is never anything there.
My 1st job was as a dishwasher, best job I’ve ever had! The work was tough, hot but I got free meals and everyone was really nice to each other. It was a really good experience for a 1st job.
