I was born in 1959. I barely remember the Cuban missle crisis. I remember my older sister crying in front of the TV when John Kennedy was assassinated. I remember Lyndon Johnson beating Barry Goldwater in the presidential elections. Viet Nam was on everyone’s minds. A growing protest movement grew louder and louder. Martin Luther King was assassinated in 1968. The Woodstock movie festival rocked the nation. The Tet offensive shocked the nation and turned the “silent majority” against the Viet Nam War. The Beatles were a sensation. Richard Nixon was impeached from the Presidency. Then the decade ended with the acid wave. Everyone did a lot of LSD. I had an older brother who did a lot of tripping. The quality of acid hasn’t been that good for a long time.

Ditto, it seems like it would have been a fun decade to be a teen or young adult in though.

I’m from Generation X, and I represent it proudly. Best generation ever :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I was born in 1964 - I barely remember pieces of it as a young kid - I mainly remember the 70s as a kid

My father was born in the same year

good year

Well in my past life I was Jim Morrison

So you do the math…

I recall my dad home during the day the US landed on the moon, he told me to come in from playing outside to watch it on TV, saying I would remember this for the rest of my life.
Sometimes I forget…

I was nothing more than a drop of water and various other elements, they hadn’t come to together yet to form me as a sperm.

I was always here though to be honest, i’ve been here from the beginning of earth. This though is a strange part of the cycle and i don’t much like it.

It sucked!!! As I was conceived during the end of it.

I’m still livin’ in the 60’s.

I wasn’t born until the 70’s but I did enough LSD and listened to enough pink floyd and the doors I might as well have live through it.

I was born in 62 and don’t remember much.

The last of the Eisenhower years + then the Beatles landed in US. Me - a hippie wannabe - though a first class nerd. Got to know interesting people in alternative places.

Me too.
