I failed out of music school because I was crazy as a cat and I regret most the experience of going to it, and the socialization. It almost makes me sad.
I never got over the bullying related trauma, and lack of help and support for non academic issues. That meant going to college/university wasn’t a realistic/viable option.
I started out in fashion merchandising, because my father made me go to university.
I wanted to go to cosmetology and massage therapy schools so I could work in nursing homes, with eating disordered patients, and in hospice care. But nooooo…i wasn’t allowed to do that.
Detested fashion merchandising, and switched to business administration after the first year because my fashion courses could transfer into elective slots.
The only degree programs that interested me were nursing and psychology/sociology, so I could still care for patients. But I would have had to do a 5th year if I did those, and I already hated being there.
Hated business, it was the polar opposite to my personality, but I plowed through summer semesters too so I could graduate in 3.5 years and get the heck out of school.
Had my first psychotic break 9 months into my first job, in a medical office, and after six more breaks, finally admitted in 2022 that I am simply too disabled to work.
College was paid for out of trust accounts set up since birth, but wow, that degree is sure one worthless piece of paper considering how expensive it was, and also really detrimental to my mental health.
@anon67051439 that’s a truly impressive course load! Wow!
I took a program that is the same as pre-med. I studied math, social studies, physics, organic, inorganic bio-chemistry, biology, microbiology, pathology, genetics, Histology, Immunobiology, anatomy, physiology, medical Mycology, computer programming, psychology.
