I went to university and did a 3 year BA (Hons) in Sociology. First, after having received the degree, I was pretty embarrassed. In America they say it’s good for “flipping burgers”. I’ve come to learn that flipping burgers isn’t a bad thing lol. I am not always right about everything , I don’t know everything and I’m at peace with not knowing all the answers. And that is what the degree gave me. Seeing a scenario from different angles. I only started appreciating my hard work for that degree recently. Heck I didn’t even go to graduation day. I’m thinking to buy another certificate and frame it
I went to university (engineering) and… Failed
It was probably not the subject for you @everhopeful
Oh, phooey. You’re going to patent the world’s best vape. We all know this.
I went for 3.5 years then dropped out because I was in the hospital too much (before sz) and then they dropped my major when I tried to go back and couldn’t get enough classes to finish so I just kept working. I didn’t belong in school anyways. I wish I would have done a trade school instead.
yeah I studied marketing for a while + did a lot of certificates. One of my closest friends has masters in sociology. She works in a school as a administrative assistant, it is a very good job/career
Moved to School and Work.
Ahaha sorry I’m a bit excited today
I took my BSc in computer engineering exactly 10 years ago. Five long gruesome years, many failed and repeated courses, much sorrow and “finger breaking”. But I did it. I tricked them into giving me that friggin diploma.
I was left with at least 3 friends as a heritage from my life at uni. And I was able to pursue a career as a software developer, which means those 5 years didn’t completely go to waste
I went to an art school and then became ill and dropped out. I did that a year after high school.
I was in and out of hospitals for awhile. Couldn’t keep a job because concentration fell off and was paranoid of other people. Eventually I got on disability and started school last may.
I really liked the teaching style of college professors. They always seem to have some trick up their sleeve to really get it into your head.
Went to uni to study management
Got throug first year
Had to drop out second year as it was causing to much stress and schizophrenia symptoms
@anon1571434 I actually left school at 16. And I went back to adult college a few years later to do an access course cos by that time I was too old for regular college to do a-levels … so I was also older when went back and trust me I hear what you say … things just started to sink in better. I think was in a better frame of mind then.
Admin are the jobs I’ve had. Nothing to do with sociology though lol but the course really helped my thinking to prepare me for life although not career.
Yes I remember even my professors at the art school were pretty good. I took a class that was a prerequisite for selling and marketing and Idk why but that old crippled man seemed genius enough for everyone to want to listen lol
I feel you on that!!
Hey. I’m a beauty school dropout too!
I’ve been and dropped out several times. Did well for the most part.
I’ve been to University though I did not graduate. I got a diploma from a technical school however.
I went to uni and was doing really well till the symptoms got too much and I dropped out
Yes. I did a BA in English Literature and History of Art and a Masters in Modern and Contemporary Art History. I got a First. But yes, like sociology, it is not the most pragmatic of degrees and I’m in the wrong location to apply for jobs where it would be useful/applicable. I would need to move to the UK or USA. I didn’t attend Graduation either!
