If you visit this website (Government of Canada) and search for Cariprazine (Which is Vraylar) it says it was submitted for review in June, 2021 which wasn’t too long ago.
According to Health Canada there is no timeline for drug approval so there is no way to predict if/when it will be approved.
How long does the drug review process take?
HPFB has set internationally competitive performance targets for its conduct of reviews. The length of time for review depends on the product being submitted and the size and quality of the submission, and is influenced by HPFB’s workload and human resources.
I was in the same boat with my insomnia. There was drug I wanted to try that wasn’t approved in Canada and I had no idea if/when it would be approved. It’s frustrating.
@anon67051439 I thought about your problem, watched porn, then thought about your problem with a clearer head. The only solution I can come up with, other than finding a perfect med, is to talk to your pdoc about l-dopa. When you were using it, you were abusing it, you should only take the minimum amount with your rispiridone that will get you out of bed. That’s all. Talk to your pdoc about maybe getting you a little dopamine boost, in conjunction with your ap. Don’t f around with it though to try to become superman. Just take the minimum.
I think that it is ok to complain on this forum once in awhile. I hate to see you give up hope Aziz. I still struggle with negatives too but I’m not willing to give up hope that things can improve.
If your not sure about clozapine then try to function on 3mg of Risperdal. Accept some positive symptoms and use cbt or something for anger and impulse management.
You’ll probably be less tired and more able to function and still have the help of the ap
When I was taking Risperdal last year I was just taking 2mg or a bit more. It didn’t stop voices or anything it just dampened things to a manageable level.
I’m on 6 mg of risperidone since couple of months now. And I only get out of bed for smoking. Sometimes I sleep for 4 to 5 hours at night and up to 8 hours on day time. I’m basically in the same situation, just I smoke a lot, so I get out off the bed more often.
I know what you are going through. Without my smokes I would just stand up from bed for toilette, eating and drinking or appointments. Because it was already like that for a couple of years before I started smoking. My doctor refuses to reduce my meds. I even said to her that it doesn’t help my symptoms and in addition I stay longer in bed because of the med increase.
