What PRN do you have for psychosis?

I am interested in meds to take when having a bad day, that work fast and relieve symptoms??

Cannot be Haldol. I tried that as PRN before, and well, the cure was just as unbearable as the symptoms

Need this to help me, but still allow me to be alive enough to work

I just increase my abilify dosage.
I am on 10mg so that would mean 15mg does the trick.
Luckily there’s usually no need for that.

I’m lucky and haven’t had psychosis since I started on meds 13 years ago now.

I could probably use a PRN for anxiety, but I’d probably end up abusing them to try and stay working.

Haldol 0.5-1mg. Even if I feel the same as you about it, hence the minimalistic dosing. Sorry, can’t be of help. Hope you find something better.

Oh…sometimes when it’s mild, I adjust my daily activities (no stress), use natural downers (chamomille) and avoid natural uppers (sugar, caffein). But if I want to knock myself out for a day or two, that’s not enough.

i take some lorazepam on bad moments. that helps like after 20 to 30 minutes

That’s what I have and you’re right - it sucks. It renders me useless for the next two days until it clears my system. Things have to get bad before I pop the lid off that pill bottle.

No prn now as I never get symptoms but when I was on Zyprexa I had 2 prn, 2.5-5mg Zyprexa and 100mg Seroquel.

Occasionally I get some mild anxiety and when I do I take 100mg l-theanine, works every time.

I don’t have any Psychotic symptoms so no prn for that.

I have risperdone 1mg as a prn. I can take 3 a day if needed. Haven’t needed it so far, but happy to have it just in case.

I have clonazepam 0.25 to 0.5 mg once a day as a prn.

I also have sumatriptan 50 mg twice a day prn. Can only take nine of those a month though.

5mg Zyprexa. Up to a max of 20mg a day.

When I get anxiety I take a prazosin. Better than taking benzodiazapines.
