What my mom used to say about judging others

My mom used to tell me things - I still remember. She taught me some great values in life =)

  • I am not sure if these words translate well to English - but I will try =) It may sound weird/stupid but in my language it is beautiful.

Everytime you point a finger to judge someone - look at your hand and see that 3 fingers point back at you - so don’t judge others

hmm what else -

I may add later on

The best piece of advice my mum has ever given me is ‘Always follow your instincts. If you can’t figure it out in your head, then trust your feelings instead’.

I heard a guy in AA say that, but I think that sometimes it can pay to be a hypocrite and judge others for faults you have in yourself. It might even be a psychological defense mechanism. It probably makes the world a worse place when you judge others for faults you have yourself, but people aren’t always on the side of those who make the world better.

I think we are all hypocritical =) based on what we believe in. I know I am very stubborn.
I have done some extremely crazy stuff based on what I believe in

we don’t really know what makes the world better. It is only religion that kind of helps us determine and teach things.
If you go to the isolated places where people still live in tents - they do some weird stuff?!

My mom used to say: Don’t judge another person until you’ve walked a mile in their shoes.

Also: Don’t judge a book by its cover.

Also: If you don’t have something nice to say don’t say anything at all.
