What medication makes people less sleepy

Hi I want to know what antipsychotic makes people sleep less. I’m currently taking Risperidone but I been sleeping a lot and I wonder if there is a antipsychotic that doesn’t make people sleep a lot but also that doesn’t cause heart problems.

I am on generic prolixin (fluphenazine), 10 mg, twice a day…it’s a typical ap, I have been on it for decades and have made leaps and bounds on it. good luck…risperdal ruined my life.

Back when I tried Invega and Geodon I was able to go all day with energy. I didn’t need daytime naps at all with either med

I am on risperidone 5mg. Was on 6mg. At first I was sleeping a lot but then later I was sleeping less. I also take caffeine pills and now sleep during the day only a few times a week for 1hr. I sleep 9hrs a night.

On Abilify I slept less, like 7-8hrs/day.

Vraylar (cariprazine) doesn’t cause me to be sleepy at all (I take it in the morning) and it’s apparently one of the few antipsychotics that doesn’t cause QT prolongation.

I slept all day every day on Abilify. I have so much more energy on Rexulti and have the sleep pattern of a normal person now lol.

Latuda is pretty fair game when it comes to drowsiness.

Just stay away from Typicals.

:pill:

on abilify, i was very sleepy and found it hard to get out of bed. i’m now taking vraylar and finding my energy levels much better. i hope you find a medication that works for you.

Amisulpride is not sedating at all for me. Haloperidol also not too sedating at low dose (I take 4mg)

Does that Vraylar causes erectile dysfunction ? also does the orthostatic hypotension goes away with time or it might not happen to everyone and also can it be controlled with medication.

I take Invega and clozapine and sleep 12 hours a night.

I am asking my Dr about Modafinil in a couple of weeks.

I’m a woman so don’t know about the ED part but I’ve not heard an association. I don’t really have any problems with the hypotension though, and I already take blood pressure meds. Must not happen to everyone.

Haloperidol here, sleep for 7hrs a day, then one or two small 1hr naps

Does it makes you gain weight or lose weight ?

as it was explained to me, vraylar is weight-neutral. though i think i’ve gained a little weight, i’m in relatively good shape. when i’m exercising regularly and conscious of my eating, i feel great.

invega (paliperidone) doesnt cause as much drowsiness as most other aps. i take it first thing in the morning
