Is there a medicine like Haldol that does not leave you sleepy? Most atypical antipsychotics have sedative effects. I do not want to sleep away my days.

First thing you should know is meds work differently for each person. I’m getting weaned off haldol and getting abilify slowly raised. I’m also on latuda
I’m on perphenazine and it doesn’t leave me exhausted like the haldol did. I like the perphenazine a lot more, even though it has more side effects. It works better for me.
I have found the following:
Abilify (Aripiprazole) - made me a bit too awake
Latuda (Lurisadone) - Perfect but other side effects came in after 18 months
Amisulpride - 9 months in and it’s great.
With Haldol I had movement problems and it made me a weird kind of sedate. Amisulpride has full control of my symptoms, and little side effects. It’s a wonder drug for me. Worth the risk in trying it. The worst thing it does is raise prolactin, but that’s a better trade of for me than putting on weight, getting diabetes and being a zombie

Amisulpride, Paliperidone and Aripiprazole doesnt cause much sleepiness. If u did sleep, you will be sleeping less hours [1]
I wish amisulpride was available in the US.
I don’t understand why it isn’t. It’s pretty much everywhere else in the world.

Just updated my post, paliperidone and abilify also doesnt cause sleepiness. They are in fact given in morning. [1]
Abilify was very activating
Amisulpride has been the best for me in that regard so far
I cant sleep on invega alone… I need other meds. Invega makes me an insomniac
How much Haldol do you take? Haldol does not make me sleepy but I’m at only 1mg.
I was thinking about trying Latuda. What were the side effects that came on 18 months if you dont mind me asking?
