With me, it was the lack of follow up when I got constipated. They just dropped the issue. (Hence, chordy’s obsession.)

Did you always feel they loved you? How lucky you were.
I don’t know. Everybody goes through rough patches but I’m quite sure my parents love/loved me.
My mom loved me lots. My stepdad not so much.
sad thread really
You’re really not in a position to be judging other people’s threads.
I was abused and neglected growing up. But both my parents have changed drastically into good people and I love them now

What @san_pedro ?
Be serious sometimes.
Ooo. Triggering.
Mum loved me - its just that she was born in the 1940’s where it was all british “stiff upper lip” so she didnt really show her emotions. She certainly had no bloody clue of my mental illness since i was 17. She always said “i just gave up”.
She was a fiercesome sod - and i copped it sometimes.
It does still upset me she left me to rot on the streets of brighton for 6 months - where i nearly died of malnutrition. And even when i was in intensive care with tubes coming out my neck - she saw me for less than 5 minutes.
Used to annoy me - and i used to call her an “ambulance chaser” cos she was always “dying” as if to gain the maximum amount of sympathy and attention. Shame she didnt always give it.
Lets just say my family is fcking dysfunctional lol.
For me, it was when I was about 3 , and my mother shouted at my father saying "Well YOU’RE the one who wanted the child’
That pretty much set the tone for the rest of my life.
Ha - Not being funny - the wife said that once. Tho she is and always has been a stunning mother to my dumpling.
I had good parents. Just luck of the draw considering i was one of trillions of sperms that made his way into the life lottery.
I felt loved. I think my mom loved me in her own weird way, but it was the love of a broken person.
I feel the same as @shutterbug
Mostly I felt loved. But sometimes I questioned it because work had a higher priority than me. It still has.
