Yes, my parents have been bad parents for the most part.
I believe that they are broken people who have been exposed to a miserable and abusive childhood.
And in turn decided to manipulate, control and abuse my brother and myself.
With all of this, I see them falling apart as they age.
There is a part of me that still loves them and feels sorry for them.
Is this natural?
I know that they caused a lot of damage to their children, but I also know that they lack insight into their actions.
My father especially is beyond repair, he is a very sick and twisted individual.

Yes, and my parents’ shame made them refuse love when it was given to them. They were quite proud, you see.
Yes Wave, it’s natural… They’re your parents nonetheless, and probably did something good along the way too.
