The answer to this question is so complex that I don’t think anyone could possibly hope to adequately respond to it. I had an ideal mate in mind when I met my husband, and he met all the criteria, so I married him. As time progressed, I was able to see all of the little traits and attributes that contributed to him being the ideal partner for me- things I never would have considered needing in a husband and wouldn’t have known to look for. People are multi-faceted, and there are so many aspects to everyone, that there is no simple answer to this question. My best advice is this: you won’t know unless you get out there and look.

I have thought about a mate and I conclude that I probably will seek someone who is somehow mentally ill in some way, but doing well. I don’t think I can compete for a healthy woman. If I can’t find her I will remain single.
