So basically trauma is the event and PTSD is a potential outcome of that experience.

So basically if you experience something uncomfortable or painful or scary that is a “Trauma” but it won’t always turn into PTSD

PTSD is what happens when the brain can’t really process the trauma

Like there is more nuance to it but that’s the basic explanation
