A psychopath has a personality disorder characterised by anti-social behaviour. They are exploitative, manipulative, and not infrequently criminal. It is an axis 2 disorder in DSM parlance.

Psychosis is a disorder characterised by hallucinations and/or delusions. Schizophrenia is the best known psychotic disorder, classified as axis 1. Schizophrenics are often a-social, but not usually anti-social.

The fact to be self-centered, often narcissistic and manipulative with others. Lack of empathy is also common. That’s my opinion. I don’t pretend to be scientific.

I Have Noticed Keywords Here In Particular.

&

Although The Word ‘Scientific’, Is Used More Frequently.

Strange To Admit, Both Of Your Posts In Thus Thread Seem, Slightly Educated To An Extent.

according to wikipedia

Psychopathy, sometimes considered synonymous with sociopathy, is traditionally a personality disorder characterized by persistent antisocial behavior, impaired empathy and remorse, and bold, disinhibited, and egotistical traits.

i think maybe psychopaths are more likely to be less remorseful then, if that is what the definition says!

i have heard of psychotic people who carry guilt, remorse wheras apparently psychopaths do not. maybe they justify their actions in their own way in order not to feel remorse, even if the ‘normal’ people consider it to have been a bad behaviour.

For some reason, I have regret occasionally, but never anything I can call remorse. If I had to guess, I’d say it is a manifestation of schizoid personality (I don’t feel it is a disorder any more, but it used to be).

-A.

@schizornot, What’s the difference between remorse and regret?

Both can be violent but I think psychopaths can be more violent than schizophrenics generally.

Psychopathy is different from psychosis.
Psychopaths don’t feel remorse, most people with psychosis can feel empathy and are remorseful.

Psychopathy is a personality disorder, schizophrenia is not a personality disorder.

Psychopaths are egotistical while most schizophrenics are not.

I Find These Different, Opinions To Be Slightly Fascinating.

With A Distinct Different, Slight Same Views It Seems, Everyone Agrees That There Is A More Dangerous Effect Psychopath’s Appear To Carry Than The Shadow Of A Mental Disorder, Or Disorders Without The Need For Any Violence.

Although Something Nudges My Consciousness With The Sharp Reminder That The News Media Loves To Carry Both Troublesome Slight Hindrance To Societies “normal” Traits. With Stories About Both Parties With Crimes On Both Sides Sneaking Around Within Violence & Even Much Worse.

Sadly (Like The Olde Saying Goes), One Bad Apple Can Spoil A Bunch.

I Feel Like I’m Way Off Key Point Though, I Have To Admit.

Anyone?.

Well.

The Question Arrives.

Can A Psychotic Individual, (Under Care Of The Correct Medications), Delete The Need For Violence Within The Sphere Of Psychopath’s?.

Is That Possible?.

I Mean, Both Parties Can Agree, We’ve All Been In The Dark For A Very Long Time.

Including The Public!.

Anyone?.

I was physically violent once when I was full blown psychotic.

I bit the police lady as I was trying to escape the hospital because I believed I will die and wanted to be around people at that time, not enclosed in a small room.

She wouldn’t let go of me.

Is that bad.

Were you ever violent physically when you’ve been psychotic?
