i have been on 3 different ap’s and the first was seroquel and i only made it up to 100 mg but i felt like it didnt work and possibly was making my symptoms worse, than next the worse of them all for me side effects wise but good for my symptoms, zyprexa, worked really well for hallucinations and anxiety but made me gain so much weight in so little time and eat so much that i will never take it again even if i am in a situation where somehow it only medthat can work for me, i literally have broken a tv on that med because i was so hungry and i couldnt get any food i felt like i had an eating disorder the whole time on that med, now for me the best med is the one i am on right now, i have only been on it for 2 months but so far no weight gain im actually able to lose weight on this med because it doesnt make me hungry, for me tho my anxiety has returned and i can’t really tell if its working for my hallucinations because they have been quiet since i switched meds, one bad side effect is that i cant take anything else really because i took one thing that had a major interaction before with this and i actually had the interaction happen to me, but i can see myself taking this med for a long time, i don’t know how long i will be on antipsychotics it might be my whole life but really i dont want to ever stop taking this med because i feel if i become psychotic again it may not work the same for me and i might have different side effects i am happy with how its working for me right now
Vraylar the new medication I started it months ago and somehow its still working I THINK unlike the rest of em and haldol for me as well
Abilify so far. I’ll probably be on it for the rest of my life. Unless I find something better lol
I’ve been on several but Prolixen worked for me for over 20 years at various doses depending on how I was doing at the time.
I got put on Prolixen years before the newer, second-generation drugs came out. So those newer drugs came out and my doctor tried putting me on abilify and xyprexa because he was worried I would get Tardive Dyskanisia from the Prolixen.They didn’t work for me so he put me on resperidone and now I’ve been on resperidone for the past 17 years.
Zyprexa 1year -weight gain 25kg.
Risperdal 10 years -breast enlargement
Abilify 6 years and counting -so far so good
i have heard so much good about abilify what are the side effects like? any weight gain??
sigarino. When I am on Abilify, no weight gain nor weight loss. Side effect is minimal.
The efficiency of Abilify, from my experience, is poorer than Risperdal.
Amisulpride seems to be working even after 4 years so I guess I’m on it for life!
I’ve tried most of them, and Seroquel works best for me with the least amount of side effects.
So far it’s ability mixed with invega.
Risperidone by a long shot.

What was your dosage for olanzapine just wondering as I’m only on 5mg due to my pregnancy! But I don’t want to put on excess weight

I was on 5mg mainly but 10 mg for like a month but when I quit and started taking again I was on 10 mg the whole time
Zyprexa zydis is less likely to give you weight gain.
